IDES provides specialist maintenance on Mobile Proof Gun Mounts for Defence

Integrated Design and Engineering Solutions (IDES) personnel have conducted its annual; two yearly and five yearly detailed specialist maintenance and services on both IDES delivered Mobile Proof Gun Mounts (MPGMs). IDES evaluated the condition of the trailers and components reducing incidents of unwarranted down time.

 

IDES maintenance and inspection activities are supported by a truly integrated relationship with CASG and Defence personnel from Proof & Experimental Establishment’s Port Wakefield facility ensuring a structured and safe outcome.

 

IDES has successfully designed, manufactured and delivered the MPGMs along with the Integrated Logistic Support (ILS) plan to support the ongoing regular preventative maintenance inspections. This plan helps to prolong the life of the systems by having inspections every 3 months, 12 months, two years, five years and ten years. In addition IDES technicians identify areas for repair or rectification for review by Commonwealth

 

The maintenance was conducted by qualified IDES technicians in accordance with the IDES User Hand Book servicing schedule. IDES technicians used calibrated special tools, equipment and the IDES’s developed Air Compressor with Hydraulic Power Pack.

 

As the Design Authority for the MPGMs, IDES have an in-depth and thorough understanding of the MPGMs in terms of design, higher stress concentration points, functionality and maintainability, providing reduced risk to the Commonwealth in undertaking maintenance activities and ensuring ongoing safe operation throughout its Life of Type (LoT).
